About the Role
Our client, a leader in the Manufacturing industry, is seeking an experienced Trade Tested Fitter and Turner to join their team based in Durban on a contract basis. As a key member of the production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of machinery and equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out mechanical maintenance, repairs, and breakdown support on production machinery
- Strip, assemble, align, fit, and adjust mechanical components to required tolerances
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance
- Fault-finding and troubleshooting on mechanical systems
- Support production changeovers and machine setups
- Work closely with production teams to ensure optimal machine performance
- Adhere to all safety, quality, and operational standards
- Complete basic maintenance records and job cards
Requirements
- Garde 12 Qualified Fitter & Turner (Trade Test essential)
- Proven experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Hands-on experience with high-speed production machinery
- Strong mechanical fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently and under production pressure
