About the Role
Our client, a global manufacturer of plastic & aluminium closures, is seeking an experienced Millwright to join their team in Durban. The successful candidate will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of electrical, electronic, mechanical and production equipment, as well as the installation of control panels and equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Repair and maintain electrical, electronic, mechanical and production equipment
- Install control panels and electrical, electronic, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment
- Maintain machines as per service schedules defined in the CMMS and OEM Manuals
- Troubleshoot control circuit faults on production equipment
- Analyse equipment breakdowns and record RCA info on job cards
- Modify (approved) plant equipment to keep production lines running at an optimum
- Rebuild and refurbish machines as and when required
- Maintain safety and electrical/electronic specifications of equipment by conducting routine safety checks
- Prioritize breakdown work in line with business demands
Requirements
- Matric, N3 certificate or equivalent plus a valid Millwright Trade Qualification
- Minimum of 5 years experience in industry as a qualified Millwright
- Knowledge of injection moulding machines (Engel, Netstal, Arburg) or similar technologies
- Knowledge of compression moulding machines (SACMI technology or similar)
- Practical experience in fault finding, industrial electronics, variable speed drives, servo motors, PLC controls, pneumatics & Advanced hydraulics systems
- Ability to interpret and read electrical and hydraulic schematic diagrams
- Mechanical fitting skills
Qualifications
- Matric, N3 certificate or equivalent plus a valid Millwright Trade Qualification (if applicable)

- R300 000 – R350 000 CTC p/a
