About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Shunter Driver and Workshop Assistant to join our team in Pinetown. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for safely moving trucks, trailers, and equipment within the yard, as well as assisting with basic repair and maintenance tasks in the workshop.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely move trucks, trailers, and equipment within the yard
- Ensure correct positioning of vehicles for loading/offloading
- Perform daily vehicle inspections and report any defects
- Follow all safety procedures and traffic regulations on-site
- Assist workshop personnel with basic repair and maintenance tasks
- Keep the workshop clean, organised and safe
- Support with moving vehicles in and out of repair bays
- Handle tools and equipment responsibly
Requirements
- Valid Code 14 driver’s licence (essential)
- Valid PDP (Professional Driving Permit) (minimum requirement)
- Minimum three (3) years of experience as a shunter driver or similar role
- Basic mechanical knowledge or experience in a workshop environment will be an advantage
