Job Description

Hire Resolves client in the Logistics Industry is urgently seeking the expertise of a Logistics Supervisor to join their team in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal.

Responsibilities:

Communicate with the Head office, contractors, and port agents regarding port plans
Reconcile RMT and train transfers to the port from the Mining Group
Reconcile and oversee stock transfers in port and stock transfers to staging and loading areas for vessel loading
Manage and oversee the use and efficiency of third-party port assets, stockpile management, labelling, and scanning process
Ensure the correct product is loaded
Oversight of the SGS sampling procedure during the offloading of trains and RMTs, as well as during the shifting of Cargo and loading of the vessel
Communicate and propose improvements in operational efficiencies

Requirements:

Logistics/Supply Chain Degree or similar qualification
At least 5 years of cargo and stockpile management experience at a port
Must be computer literate, excellent Excel skills advantageous
Good writing, reporting, and verbal communication skills
Ability to meet deadlines
Must be willing to travel and have a valid drivers license
Must be willing to travel to port after hours on an as-and-when-required basis
Willing to travel to other ports in South Africa and Maputo
Proactive and Confident
Attention to detail
Ability to work well under pressure
Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
Organizational and problem-solving skills
Dedication to the tasks at hand and willingness to go the extra mile when needed
