Job Summary

Job purpose: To co-ordinate and manage all maintenance activities to ensure safe and smooth servicing of customer’s needs in line with agreed objectives and time-lines. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Develop and implement and manage a preventive and predictive maintenance (PM & PdM) strategy for all equipment. Management of preventative maintenance system to ensure maximum machine uptime Manage and control opex and capex budget within limits, including managing purchases of anything needed. Budget covers repairs and maintenance, production consumables, repairs and maintenance of vehicles (forklifts) and capex for machinery, refurbishments and facilities Maintain a critical spare parts inventory to reduce machine/equipment downtime Ensure a philosophy of safety first (anzen) is built into all maintenance activities. Ensure the availability and efficient running of machines (robotic welding machines, hydraulic & mechanical presses, compressors, chillers, DG sets, HVAC systems) and other utility equipment to ensure minimise or unplanned downtime. Analyse daily downtimes and discuss workplan and recurring issues to be rectified from the previous shift. Implement measures to prevent downtimes / breakdowns / delays, analyse root causes and implement counter-measures to ensure problems do not recur. Drive Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM), and Lean Maintenance practices. Liaise with Quality to fix machine defects and to implement counter-measures to prevent quality-related defects. Liaise with Production and Production Control (Logistics) to plan major maintenance jobs to be done within the next weeks, including weekend work. This includes getting items refurbished to be installed on production lines, ensuring the availability of parts, machinery and machinery spares, ensuring jobs are completed to specification and once completed, ensuring machines are ready to go back into production. Participate in safety walks and ensure adherence to all safety, risk, regulatory, legal and industry requirements. (lifting equipment, pressure vessels, boilers, and hazardous area safety. ) Drive adherence to scheduled legal and compliance training for the department, including statutory inspections for machinery and ensuring compliance to OHSA. Ensure contractors safety files are submitted and up-to-date and that anyone who comes on site has been safety-inducted. Ensure the right work permits have been issued. Work with Quality to manage quality audits against the ISO standard. Manage contractors to ensure work is done correctly before sign-off. Apply kaizen mindset to identify opportunities to improve systems and processes. TECHNICAL PRE-REQUISITE Knowledge of the automotive / manufacturing industry Good level of technical competence on automated machines (PLCs, drives, presses and similar) Intermediate PLC programming skills is essential, preferably with exposure to SQL and database systems Basic business and financial acumen with exposure to budgeting People management and understanding Safety first, LEAN and process mindset Sound systems knowledge, including sound knowledge of the full MS Office suite Knowledge of spot and arc (assembly) Welding knowledge of press and weld automotive robotics MINIMUM QUALIFICATION Mechanical / electrical degree PREFERRED QUALIFICATION Mechanical Engineering degree EXPERIENCE 8 – 10 years’ general maintenance experience in an automotive environment including 5 years in a supervisory / management role Press, weld experience would be an advantage

Job Summary

Key Responsibilities: Maintenance and Production: Develop and implement maintenance procedures and schedules Inspect facilities and equipment; oversee repairs and installations Manage maintenance inventory, budgets, and contractor relationships Keep maintenance logs and report breakdowns and activities Identify risks and suggest improvements to production flow Ensure compliance with SHE regulations and the Labour Act Supervise maintenance staff Machine Building: Improve productivity by upgrading existing machinery Prepare CAPEX proposals for capacity and efficiency upgrades Diagnose and resolve machinery faults Enhance safety through equipment modifications Recommission second-hand equipment where feasible Implement systems to reduce energy consumption Requirements: Strong technical aptitude in mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems Solid understanding of engineering principles  and maintenance best practices Proven ability to work independently , meet deadlines, and stay within budget Willingness to adapt to flexible working hours  when necessary High level of discipline, initiative , and a proactive approach to problem-solving

Job Summary

Minimum Job Requirements: Bachelors Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical). At least 10 years experience in Heavy industry, preferably Petrochemical . Minimum 6 years Managerial experience leading a diverse, multidisciplinary team. Knowledge of maintenance processes, tankage maintenance, outage management. Section 16.2 Appointee. Experienced in Contractor management. Knowledge of reliability processes and techniques. Key Objectives: Aligned with key stakeholders, define clear vision for the team and develop strategies to achieve the vision. Ensure the maintenance of all company assets to achieve the goals and objectives. Key Accountabilities: Report to the General Manager: Develop staff in the Maintenance organisation aligned with the deliverables of the team. Maintenance plans for routine work and outages. Develop and deliver the Tankage plan. Maintenance project execution as an outcome of various improvement campaigns. Routine & programme maintenance of all assets. Contract ownership duties of vendors providing services to Maintenance programs. Identify and implement reliability programs and projects. Skills: Maintenance processes. Mechanical, Electrical, Instrument & Civils Engineering principles. Knowledge of petrochemical products managed at the site and associated risks. Working knowledge of OHS Act. Must have strong interpersonal skills and be able to work with the Operations team to deliver business objectives. Able to supervise senior and highly skilled staff. Posses strong business principles. Pragmatic approach to problem-solving, experienced accident investigator and skilled in the use of investigative techniques. Provide Leadership in HSSE and effective management of HSSE risk.

Job Summary

Job Spec: Maintenance Manager Industry: Packaging Manufacturing Join a Leader in Innovative Packaging Solutions, a trusted name in the packaging industry, is seeking a dynamic and hands-on Maintenance Manager to lead our technical team in Durban. If you’re passionate about ensuring optimal machinery performance and enjoy leading a skilled team in a high-performance manufacturing environment, we want to hear from you! Purpose of the Role: As Maintenance Manager, your primary goal is to ensure our production machinery is operating at peak performance to meet output targets. You will oversee all aspects of mechanical maintenance, from planned servicing to rapid response breakdowns, as well as machine lubrication and job setups. Key Responsibilities: Lead and supervise a team of 7 technical staff, including fitters and machine setters Allocate tasks according to production priorities and maintenance plans Perform root cause analysis and implement effective corrective actions Maintain and manage critical spare parts inventory Procure necessary spares in a timely and cost-effective manner Oversee and support Flat Bag, Converting, and SO Bag machine setters Collaborate with the production team to identify and resolve machine-related issues Plan and coordinate response to machine breakdowns Develop and implement service schedules and tagging programs Train team members on service routines and procedures Design and implement lubrication schedules and protocols Ensure machines are clean and in optimal working condition at all times Team Overview You will manage a team of 7, including: Maintenance Fitters (1 per shift) Machine Setters: Flat Bag Setters Converting Setters SO Bag Setters What We’re Looking For: Trade Qualification: Qualified Fitter Proven experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment Strong leadership and organizational skills A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset Excellent communication and collaboration skills
