Job Summary

Maintenance Manager required for a reputable automotive manufacturing company based in Durban , Kwazulu Natal Requirements: Degree or Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical) 10 years’ experience in management of a maintenance department Proven track record of discipline Diagnose plant and equipment problems (fault finding) and identify opportunities to modify, upgrade, improve or replace equipment and spares Approve Stores Requisition for spares and consumables Strong project management skills Responsibilities: Develop the Maintenance Strategy and ensure implementation Provide leadership and manage the Maintenance Function and Teams Analyse and interpret Planned Maintenance Reports (Hours per department, hours per Artisan, etc.) Analyse and interpret Breakdown Reports (Manufacturing downtime, top-10, etc. Manage implementation of Engineering Projects Support the project environment and activities to deliver project objectives Contribute to the management of project risk within own field of expertise Identify, suggest and implement corrective actions to improve quality of project work Evaluate and improve the project team’s performance

Identify, suggest and implement corrective actions to improve quality of project work. Evaluate and improve the Project team’s performance. The Purpose of the Role: This role will take accountability for managing operational projects within the maintenance space, ensuring Infrastructure maintenance initiatives are carried out successfully within agreed timeframes, cost and scope. They will also manage ad hoc maintenance requests, ensuring issues are addressed within agreed SLA’s. Role: Maintenance Manager Location: Amanzimtoti, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. Industry: Manufacturing – Bottling – FMCG Operations Accountable for maintaining quality, standards, service and desired outputs within inter-related functional areas of responsibility. May be responsible for ensuring the adherence of others to a set framework of policies and procedures. This role will work with various concrete variables, requiring an understanding of the theory or practices underpinning inter-related functional processes within a multi-procedural environment. Qualifications and Experience Must have Grade 12, Matric or NQF4 equivalent qualification. Bachelors Degree (3-4 years) / NQF level 7 – Bachelor Science: Engineering (Essential) FMCG bottling experience with a min of 3-4 years leading maintenance teams (bottling preferred) Lean manufacturing experience (preferred) Leadership Capability MS Excel; SAP; MS PowerPoint; MS Word; E Mail Clear criminal record Key Qualities Communication Detailed technical explanation of products, services or systems to internal or external customers or clients Problem Solving Proactive identification of functional problems that do not have predetermined guidelines, routines or procedures for solution, determine cause and impact, and choose the best alternative to solve the problem based on previous experience and an understanding of the theory or practices underpinning the problem. Maintenance Management Manage all maintenance and related activities to ensure optimal levels of plant and equipment availability Ensure all equipment and safety standards are maintained Manage ad hoc maintenance requests, ensuring issues are addressed within agreed SLA’s Effectively manage relationships with contractors and suppliers Provide expert advice and help efficiently resolve maintenance queries General Operational and Financial Management Actively participate in operational planning and budgeting processes Drive continuous improvement through streamlining and optimising relevant operational practices, processes and systems Ensure adherence to operational and financial frameworks of practices, processes, standards and controls Control cost and take the necessary action to mitigate any financial risks or non-compliance Adherence to the health, safety, food and environmental standards Staff shall adhere to all Food Safety Policies and PRPs and shall adhere to and enforce all food safety requirements at all times Staff shall adhere to Health, Safety & Environmental Policies and PRPs and shall adhere to and enforce all Health and Safety requirements at all times Visitor and Contractor Policy staff shall ensure that visitors or contractors entering the facility are signed in, escorted and wear PPE, are aware of the hygiene policies and do not smoke, eat or drink inside the facility Code of Practice staff shall maintain high levels of personal hygiene in accordance with the code of conduct Handwashing Procedure Ensuring staff are cleaning and sanitizing hands efficiently before handling the product. Physical Contamination Control Policy and Procedure Staff shall be aware of the potential of physical product contamination. Staff is aware of control measures to prevent physical contamination. Safety, Health and Environment Policy Staff take reasonable measures to ensure health and safety hazards do not occur. Should an accident occur, staff shall be aware of the procedure of reporting the incident. First Aid Policy Staff are aware of the first aider on site. Staff is trained to report injuries and illness to supervisors/first aiders.
