About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to lead and manage our maintenance function across the plant, ensuring maximum equipment availability and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical and mechanical engineering, with experience managing teams and executing CAPEX projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the maintenance function across the plant
- Supervise and coordinate a team of foremen, technicians, and artisans
- Ensure electrical and mechanical equipment readiness, minimising downtime and production interruptions
- Implement and manage preventative and predictive maintenance systems
- Drive root cause analysis (RCA) and implement sustainable corrective actions
- Manage and execute CAPEX projects, including installation, commissioning, and optimisation of new equipment
- Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations, maintenance standards, and audit requirements
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to improve plant performance and reliability
- Monitor maintenance budgets, control costs, and optimise resource utilisation
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, reports, and KPI tracking
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or BEng degree in Electrical or ElectroMechanical Engineering (non-negotiable)
- 36 years post-qualification experience in a manufacturing environment (FMCG, food, beverage, or packaging preferred)
Qualifications
- South African candidates will be given preference
- Candidates who have a GCC Factories or who are in the process to write their GCC will be given preference
