Job Summary

An established, upmarket Optometry Practice in Glen Ashley, Durban North, requires an experienced Optical Receptionist/Assistant. The ideal candidate will have good practice management and administrative abilities. Previous experience of benefit confirmations, claim submission and receiving payments is important. Dispensing skills will be beneficial Previous experience working with Optimax would be an advantage.

Duties and

Responsibilities:

Booking of appointments and managing diary
Obtaining patient information ensuring details and medical aid details are correct
Confirming optical benefits with medical aids
Prepare patient files and assist with pre-screenings
Frame selections
Administrative tasts
Management tasks

Requirements:

Grade 12 or equivalent
2 – 5 years Optical Practice Experience
Understanding and knowledge of Optical products
Experience working with Optimax
Dealing and communicating with medical aid
Dispensing skills

Skills:

Confident and Friendly
Excellent Communication skills
Time Management skills
Attention to detail
Well presented
Work well under pressure

Working Hours:

Monday to Friday 08:00 17:00
Saturday 08:00 13:00
Sunday 08:00 14:00 (every second Sunday)
Time off will be given for overtime worked

Salary:

R8 000 – R11 000 Basic Salary plus commission
