About the Role
Our client, a leader in the automotive manufacturing industry, is seeking a qualified Technical Specialist Maintenance/Millwright to join their team based in Durban. As a key member of the maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of production equipment and contributing to the company’s quality and efficiency goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintenance, fault finding, and repairs on robots, PLCs, motors, hoists, conveyors, and other plant equipment
- Monitoring production equipment condition and make improvements
- Compiling reports on departmental activities and performance
- Ensuring relevant ISO (e.g. 14001, IATF16949 etc.) requirements are met
- Create/maintain maintenance schedules and work procedures/ processes (including preventative maintenance)
- Conduct training on new processes/product introduction
- Participation in corrective, preventive and improvement projects
- Implement kaizen and cost improvement activities
- Participate in quality improvement activities
Requirements
- Minimum Education level: Millwright Qualification
- At least 5 years work experience (post qualification)
- Experience with PLCs
