About the Role

The Neurodiversity Centre is seeking an experienced Accounts Coordinator to represent the accounts department and coordinate the collections and allocations process for the organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate financial management, working closely with branch teams to maintain smooth financial processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure that allocations are done daily and timeously, from the bank statement/ERA.
  • Responsible for the debtors book and all balances.
  • Monitor invoices and outstanding billing.
  • Conduct monthly meetings with each Branch Admin Team Lead to discuss AGES.
  • Identify problem areas and trends in the debtors book and follow up with the Branch Admin Team Leader to rectify.
  • Coordinate medical aid or account queries.
  • Monitor claims to medical aid and outcome reports.
  • Assist and advise in the claims process within medical aid rules and benefits guidelines.
  • Follow up on problematic debt and take responsibility for final letters of demand.
  • Facilitate the contact and communication process for bad debt with external debt collecting firm.
  • Prepare for and manage the month end process, including the statement run.

Requirements

Education Requirements

  • Minimum Grade 12/National Senior Certificate/NQF 4 with accounting as subject (Essential).

Job Related Knowledge

  • Solid knowledge and understanding of Medical Aid scheme rules and billing guidelines (Essential)
  • In-depth understanding of the overall debt collectors process and ability to take initiative (Essential)

Job Related Skills

  • Computer literacy: General computer literacy (Essential); Excel advanced (Essential)
  • GoodX (Desirable), experience working on at least one medical management software program(Essential)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Afrikaans (Essential)
  • Problem Solving skills.
  • Debt collection skills
  • Analytical Skills
  • Ability to work independently and with sense of urgency.

Job Related Work Experience

  • Five years work experience in the medical industry (Essential)
  • Three years work experience in a relevant role, e.g., accounts/debt collecting (Essential)
  • Experience in working with ICD-10 billing codes (Essential)
  • Experience working closely with a team where the incumbent must take ownership for the debt collection process (Desirable)
