Overview: To conceptualize, design, build and run the technologies used, enabling the company to deliver exponential impact to the customer. Prepare architecture and design blueprints that cover business requirements and strategy. This role will work with the Chief Corporate Services Officer with regard to the current and future direction of the ICT department. Minimum Requirements: Grade 12/Matric A Bachelor’s Degree / Advanced Diploma / NQF 7 qualification in Information Technology 5 – 7 years supervisory or management experience Experience implementing and enabling technology solutions Must have prior experience managing and delivering across multi-functional teams Must be able to express complex solutions in a simple way to business teams and in technical details to technology teams Experience with project and stakeholders’ management Excellent Presentation skills Ability to communicate effectively at all levels Key Performance Areas: Strategy development Implement and manage the Technology and Digital strategy and plan that ensure alignment with short-term and long-term objectives development in tandem with the Chief Corporate Support Office Manage the key performance indicators and measures against outcomes detailed in the department in business strategic plans Technology Operations Manage and organize all IT -related projects Monitor changes or advancements in technology to discover ways the institution can gain competitive advantage Analyses the costs value and risks of information technology to advise management and suggest actions Ensures security of data, network access and backup systems Preserves assets, information security and control structures Plans, organizes, controls and evaluates IT and electronic data operations Assess incidents, complainants and/or accidents for the purpose of resolving or recommending a resolution to the situation Research new technologies in information technology and provide recommendations to the Chief Corporate Support Services to support the strategic direction of both the department and the company as a whole Digital Manage ongoing technical digital support and enhance digital footprint Evaluate hardware and software problems that are impacting more than one user, incident reports and resolution, scope of problems, response times and trends Manage the planning, development and implementation of digital transformation initiatives across the company Manage measures and report on performance of all digital campaigns and assess against Return on Investments and KPI goals Evaluate emerging technologies Technology Governance Review the governance structure & process & approve them for implementation Manage the alignment of technology governance Manage that these governance processes are adhered to by periodically reviewing the compliance reports Periodically review the objectives & processes of Governance to incorporate necessary changes to the structure & processes Prepare periodic reports on operational excellence & cost reductions achieved Assist in the development and maintenance of a disaster recovery plan for all information Systems within the company Hardware and software Ensure maximum availability of computer systems, access and ICT governance throughout the company Responsible for the provision of ICT infrastructure services including desktop applications, Local and /or Wide area networks, ICT security and telecommunications In consultation with the Executive Manager Corporate Services, take responsibility for ICT hardware, software and maintenance procurement Reporting Compile monthly update and status report for submissions Compile monthly, quarterly and annual reports Report on the system driven talent intelligence Report on talent metrics related to transformation and successions management Financial and Risk Management Identify and manage project risk and maintain project plan Quarterly and annual reporting People Management Training and ensuring capacity building for subordinates Managing performance of subordinates Implement people management practices for direct reports Assign accountabilities to direct reports Maintain an environment that enables teamwork and capacity building Manage staff morale Communicate job expectations
