Job Summary
Minimum
Requirements:
– A relevant Doctoral Degree – A qualification in Nursing Education that is registered with the South African Nursing Council – Professional registration with the South African Nursing Council – At least 9 years experience in higher education – Extensive undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and research experience in nursing – A track record of international and national accredited research publications commensurate with the academic rank of Professor – Postgraduate supervision experience including successful Doctoral supervision commensurate with the academic rank of Professor. – Evidence of successful national and international fundraising for research. – Recognition as an established scholar in a chosen area of research (e.g., NRF rating, international keynote addresses/ plenary lectures). Added Advantages – A qualification in Nursing Management that is registered with the South African Nursing Council – Evidence of professional and academic standing at national and international levels – Evidence of academic leadership and mentorship of early career academics. – Evidence of successfully hosting post-doctoral research fellows. – Evidence of national and international collaboration – Evidence of community engagement integrated with teaching, learning or research. – Provide academic leadership in research; curriculum design, development, and implementation. – Teach undergraduate and postgraduate modules. – Meet research publication requirements for the academic rank of professor. – Secure external research grants and establish research programs. – Supervise all levels of postgraduate students and host post-doctoral fellows. – Establish institutional, national and international collaborations. – Provide academic leadership and contribute to mentorship of academic staff. – Participate in community engagement integrated with teaching and/or research. – Contribute to University service and participate in administrative duties at departmental, faculty and university level
