We are seeking a detail oriented and driven Financial Accountant to take ownership of a core accounting function and support the broader finance team. This role is ideal for a candidate with a relevant accounting degree and completed accounting articles, who is ready to apply their technical knowledge and lead a team. Key Responsibilities Oversee and manage a team within a core accounting function of the finance department. Ensure accurate and timely processing of accounting transactions, including reviews, reconciliations, and controls. Maintain and review key accounts, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with internal controls and financial policies. Prepare and review monthly reconciliations, proactively identifying and resolving discrepancies. Assist with month-end close activities and contribute to the preparation of financial reports. Ensure adherence to relevant accounting standards and statutory requirements. Support internal and external audits by preparing required documentation and providing clear explanations. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve queries and continuously improve accounting processes and efficiencies. Minimum Requirements Relevant Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Completed or spent time serving accounting articles (SAIPA/SAICA/CIMA/other recognized body). Strong understanding of accounting principles and creditors management. High proficiency in MS Excel and experience with accounting/ERP systems. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organisational skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
