A well-established medical practice situated in Berea , near St Augustine’s Hospital in Durban , is currently looking for a Medical Receptionist to join their friendly and professional team. Position Details Position: Medical Receptionist (Medical Practice) Location: Berea – Near St Augustine ‘ s Hospital, Durban Type: Full-time Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 07:00 – 16:00 Salary: Market related About the Role This role is suited to a well-presented, professional, and enthusiastic individual who is eager to learn and grow within a medical environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating the switchboard, handling calls and messages, performing basic administrative duties, and ensuring a welcoming and professional front-desk experience for patients. We’re looking for a candidate who is: Presentable and professional Eager to learn and grow in a medical environment Friendly with a patient-focused attitude Possesses strong people skills Confident and clear in verbal and written communication Duties and Responsibilities: Operating a busy switchboard Answering and directing incoming calls Taking accurate messages Scheduling and managing appointments Performing basic administrative duties Data capturing and record keeping Using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), with good Excel skills required Minimum Requirements: Basic computer literacy Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Good Excel skills Clear and confident communication skills Some experience managing a diary/scheduling appointments is an advantage No extensive experience required – this is a great opportunity to gain experience in a calm, professional healthcare setting
