Plettenberg Bay: Field Guide

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Field Guide to join our team in Plettenberg Bay, South Africa. As a key member of our guiding team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional guest experiences and ensuring the smooth operation of our game reserve operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead trails as required
• Provide high-quality guided tours to international guests with diverse cultures
• Maintain excellent communication and interpersonal skills with staff and guests alike
• Troubleshoot vehicle maintenance issues with the maintenance team
• Drive in a variety of on- and off-road conditions, ensuring guest safety
• Utilize radio etiquette to ensure efficient and effective communication
• Demonstrate good initiative in coping with difficult situations in a remote environment
• Provide basic first aid care in the event of trauma

Requirements

• Valid and current South African guides licence
• Valid PrDP special drivers licence
• FGASA Qualification (Minimum NQF 4)
• Backup Trails certification
• DEAT Registration (Mpumalanga)
• Minimum of 3 years experience as a Field Guide/Ranger in a Big Five Game Reserve
