This role is suited for someone with a minimum of 3 years working experience in a tax and accounting environment, particularly in Individual and Company taxes. This is not a training role – you need to be ready to get to work on day one, no handholding required.Key Responsibilities:Completion and submission of Income Tax ReturnsEvaluate and check tax assessments for accuracyLiaise directly with SARS consultants and attend meetings when requiredHandle tax queries and error resolution with SARS, including refund mattersManage tax compliance, including SARS deadlines, payment processes, and record-keepingPerform provisional tax calculations and submissionsAdminister donations tax and foreign investment tax clearance certificatesHandle VAT and PAYE registrations, tax directives, and related processesSubmit requests for suspension of payment, objections, and appealsApply working knowledge of the Income Tax Act and Tax Administration ActCommunicate effectively with clients on all tax-related mattersProvide general tax support and assist with ad hoc tax tasksOversee and check annual financial statements prepared by junior staffAssist with tax clearance applications and maintain good standing with SARSHandle administrative tasks such as managing correspondence and appointments with SARSCollaborate and provide support to other team members as neededWork under pressure in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment without sacrificing quality.
