About the Role
GAP Consulting, a leading recruitment consultancy in South Africa, is seeking an experienced Dispatch Manager to join our team. With a strong background in logistics and transportation management, you will be responsible for overseeing the dispatch of steel products across Gauteng, ensuring timely delivery and efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage multiple moving parts simultaneously to ensure seamless logistics operations
- Coordinate with drivers and warehouse staff to optimize dispatch routes and reduce downtime
- Conduct regular inspections to monitor vehicle maintenance and report any issues to the relevant departments
- Implement effective planning strategies to minimize delays and maximize productivity
- Maintain accurate records of dispatch activities, including driver hours, vehicle utilization, and delivery schedules
Requirements
- Minimum 3 to 5 years experience as a Logistics | Dispatch or Fleet Manager in the Steel Industry
- Logistics or Transport Management Qualification will be beneficial
- Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple moving parts simultaneously
- Valid driver’s license (Code 14) with PDP advantageous
