About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Executive Chef to lead our culinary operations at an upmarket business hotel in Pretoria’s Diplomatic Quarter. The ideal candidate will be responsible for elevating food offerings, managing finances, and delivering exceptional culinary experiences for international travelers and local corporate clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Standardize and elevate food offerings across all outlets
- Ensure aggressive waste management, meticulous menu costing, and strict procurement controls to meet monthly budget targets
- Oversee the end-to-end culinary delivery for large-scale conferences, government functions, and private events (up to 300 pax)
- Maintain a high-performance culture through structured training and mentorship
- Ensure the kitchen remains 100% compliant with international health, safety, and hygiene (HACCP) standards
Requirements
- Minimum 5–8 years as an Executive Chef in a high-volume, 4-star hotel environment
- Proven track record in “High-Volume/High-Quality” environments
- Proficient in financial reporting and Excel
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a large, diverse team
Qualifications
Professional Culinary Diploma/Degree from a recognized institution is required.
