About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Factory Manager to join our client’s team in Gauteng. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in production management, experience managing large teams, and a deep understanding of technical drawings and manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee all factory and production activities.
- Ensure production schedules are met according to project deadlines.
- Coordinate workflow between Production, Supervisors, Project Managers, Procurement and Installation teams.
- Drive productivity, efficiency and continuous improvement within the factory.
- Monitor and control manufacturing costs, waste and material usage (understand costings & supply chain).
- Ensure quality control processes and standards are maintained throughout production.
- Manage factory staff performance, discipline, training and development.
- Ensure accurate interpretation of technical drawings and production requirements.
- Oversee material planning and ordering for projects.
- Ensure machinery, equipment and factory maintenance is managed effectively.
- Maintain safe working practices and compliance within the factory environment.
- Troubleshoot production challenges and implement practical solutions quickly.
- Assist in implementing systems and processes to improve operational performance.
Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric.
- AutoCAD and the ability to interpret technical drawings.
- Diploma or Degree in Production Management, Operations. Management or similar qualification advantageous.
- 3-5 years’ experience in a Factory or Production Management role.
- Management of over 40 people is non-negotiable.
- Experience within the Shopfitting, Wood Manufacturing or Joinery industry is non-negotiable.
