Job Description
To manage and oversee the full factory operation within a plastics manufacturing environment, ensuring efficient production, quality compliance, and effective team leadership. The role requires strong technical expertise in injection moulding and CNC-controlled systems, alongside operational, stock and quality management experience.
Operations & Production Management
Manage daily factory operations within a plastics injection moulding environment.
Plan and control production schedules to meet customer orders and deadlines.
Oversee raw materials management to ensure uninterrupted production.
Set and optimise injection moulding machines.
Operate and oversee CNC-controlled injection moulding equipment.
Ensure smooth operation during production cycles (as required).
Monitor and improve manufacturing efficiency and output.
Stock & Inventory Control
Manage stock levels of raw materials and finished goods.
Conduct regular stock takes and inventory reconciliations.
Implement stock control systems to minimise waste and loss.
Quality & Compliance
Ensure adherence to ISO9001 quality management standards.
Maintain quality control procedures across production.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives.
Prepare and manage operational and quality reports.
Team Leadership
Supervise and manage a team of 15–22 factory staff.
Oversee shift planning and workforce allocation.
Provide training, coaching, and performance management.
Promote a safe, compliant, and productive working environment.
Reporting & Administration
Produce regular operational performance reports.
Monitor KPIs including production output, quality metrics, downtime, and waste.
Liaise with senior management regarding production planning and performance.
Essential Requirements
Minimum of 3 – 5 years factory management / production management experience
Proven experience within the plastics manufacturing industry.
Hands-on experience with injection moulding machinery.
Experience setting and operating CNC-controlled injection moulding machines.
Strong understanding of production scheduling and factory operations.
ISO9001 quality management experience.
Stock control and stock take experience.
Experience managing teams within a manufacturing environment.
Ability to manage 24-hour operations when required.
