About the Role
We are seeking a knowledgeable and passionate Sommelier to join our prestigious Luxury Lodge in the Kruger National Park, where you will be responsible for curating and managing the wine list, advising guests on wine pairings, and delivering exceptional guest experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Curate and manage the lodge’s wine list to complement the culinary offering
- Advise guests on wine pairings and beverage selections
- Maintain wine stock, cellar organisation, and inventory control
- Train and support the F&B team on wine knowledge and service standards
- Ensure consistently high levels of service aligned with luxury lodge expectations
Requirements
- Proven experience in a Sommelier or senior F&B role within luxury hospitality
- Strong food and beverage knowledge, with a particular focus on wine
- Excellent guest interaction and communication skills
- Professional presentation and a passion for service excellence
Qualifications
- Formal education/certifications (e.g. WSET, MS) would be an asset but not required
