• Managing day-to-day accounting operations and monthly closing processes
• Preparing financial statements, budgets, and forecasts
• Monitoring costs, margins, and inventory in a manufacturing environment
• Ensuring compliance with tax regulations, statutory reporting, and audit requirements
• Implementing and strengthening internal controls and financial policies
• Providing financial insights to support strategic decision-making
• Coordinating with cross-functional teams to improve operational efficiency
• Supervising a small finance team and liaising with external auditors and consultant

Job Experience and Skills Required:

• com degree in accounting
• SAICA /SAIPA articles
• 5 years relevant manufacturing experience

As they continue to expand operations and invest in new technologies, they are seeking a skilled Financial Controller to strengthen their finance function and support strategic growth.
 
Financial Management & Reporting
 

• Oversee the full finance function, including management accounts, statutory reporting, and compliance.
• Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Monitor and analyse financial performance, highlighting variances and recommending corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies.

 
Costing & Inventory Control
 

• Develop and maintain standard costing models and variance analysis to monitor production efficiency.
• Oversee inventory valuation and control, ensuring accurate stock reporting.
• Partner with operations to manage cost of goods sold (COGS) and improve profit margins.
• Analyse manufacturing overheads, production costs, and wastage to drive continuous improvement.

 
Budgeting & Forecasting
 

• Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Work with department heads to set realistic financial targets and track performance.
• Provide strategic insights to support short- and long-term business planning.

 
Job Experience and Skills Required:

• com degree in accounting
• CIMA in progress
• 9 years relevant manufacturing experience
• SAP
