About the Role
This role sits at the centre of group-level financial oversight, responsible for ensuring that the financial health of the organisation is accurately measured, reported, and translated into meaningful insights for leadership. It requires a technically strong Chartered Accountant who can move comfortably between detailed financial analysis, compliance, and high-level business interpretation.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review monthly management accounts and group reporting packs.
- Consolidate financial results across the group and ensure accuracy of reporting.
- Interpret financial results and provide insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
- Review and sign off journals, provisions, and reconciliations.
- Review general ledger reconciliations across head office and operational entities.
- Prepare year-end financial reporting packs and support financial statement preparation.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies and financial reporting standards.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of strong internal control frameworks.
- Ensure financial governance standards are adhered to across the group.
- Manage tax calculations and ensure compliance with relevant tax regulations.
- Provide technical accounting support to Finance Heads within the group.
- Review and analyse financial performance, identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Conduct financial analysis to support operational efficiency and cost reduction initiatives.
- Assist with strategic financial planning and forecasting activities.
- Support project financial analysis and validation of financial plans.
- Manage banking profiles and oversee treasury-related functions.
- Review financial provisions and follow up on reconciling items.
- Ensure financial resources are managed efficiently to support group operations.
- Assist with finance automation projects and system implementations.
- Support implementation of financial reporting tools such as consolidation systems and Power BI.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and reporting efficiencies.
Requirements
- Matric (Grade 12)
- CA(SA) qualification is essential
- Strong understanding of IFRS and South African financial reporting regulations
