Job Description

Duties:
- Prepare and review monthly and quarterly consolidation packs
- Perform monthly consolidation journals and consolidation checks
- Prepare consolidated segment reports and AISC calculations
- Prepare subsidiary financial statements in line with Group accounting policies
- Prepare IFRS-compliant cash flow statements
- Draft technical accounting memorandums for significant/unusual transactions
- Provide IFRS technical guidance to operations finance teams
- Perform discounted cash flow modelling
- Prepare acquisition purchase price allocation packs
- Review GL account mappings for newly acquired entities
- Develop ad-hoc financial models for new and existing transactions
- Research and document economic indicators for modelling purposes
- Liaise with external auditors and resolve technical queries
- Support reporting within a SOX-compliant environment
Job Experience & Skills Required:
Qualifications:
- Matric (Grade 12)
- BCom Accounting
- BCom Honours / CTA
- CA(SA)
Experience:
- Registered CA(SA) with SAICA Articles
- Minimum 2 years’ post-articles experience in a related technical or group reporting role
- Experience in a large, listed entity environment
- Strong IFRS technical expertise
- Mining sector experience
- SOX-compliant environment exposure
- Knowledge of JSE Listings Requirements and the Companies Act
Skills & Competencies:
- Advanced IFRS Accounting Standards knowledge
- Strong consolidation expertise (NCI, eliminations, equity-accounted investees, business combinations)
- Experience preparing subsidiary financial statements
- Financial modelling expertise (discounted cash flows, WACC, impairment testing)
- Purchase price allocation experience
- Experience with environmental rehabilitation provisions under IFRS
- Strong MS Excel skills
- Exposure to consolidation system implementation, design and testing
- Understanding of complex transactions (business combinations, BEE structures, restructurings)
