About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Junior Draughtman to join our client’s team in Gauteng, South Africa. As a Junior Draughtman, you will be responsible for producing and revising detailed technical and fabrication drawings for steel components, working closely with engineers, estimators, and production teams to ensure high levels of accuracy and quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce and revise detailed technical and fabrication drawings for steel components
- Interpret engineering specifications and design requirements
- Apply correct drafting symbols, tolerances, and standards
- Ensure high levels of accuracy in measurements and dimensions
- Work closely with engineers, estimators, and production teams
- Update drawings based on design changes and manufacturing feedback
- Maintain drawing registers and documentation control
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years’ draughting experience
- Creditable draughting or engineering qualifications
- Background in the steel industry
- Strong understanding of technical drawing symbols and standards
- High level of technical accuracy, particularly with measurements and dimensions
