Job Summary
Key responsibilities / main job duties:
– Crimping of contacts to wires ensuring that crimping is done to correct standards
– Inserting wires to connectors
– Sleeving / harnessing of wires to form a loom adhering to set standards
– Correct assembly of wires to form a loom using the relevant work specification (schematic, instructions, samples)
– Running wires using running lists
– Routing cables on loom boards
– Assisting with loom installation into product
– Soldering of components where required
– Using the heat gun to seal the looms
– Ensuring that sleeve and or wires do not have nicks, breaks in them as this can result in sparks which may result in damage to wires, product
Candidate requirements:
– Qualification and/or professional license(s)
– Matric
Experience needed
– Hand tool experience (heat gun, glue gun, soldering iron, etc)
– Electronic, wiring, component knowledge
– Soldering experience (small components, wiring)
