Role Purpose

The successful candidate will take responsibility for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the accounting practice, ensuring high-quality delivery of financial and tax services while supporting the firm’s strategic growth.
This role requires a balance of strong technical ability, operational oversight, commercial thinking, and a proactive mindset toward business development.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the full accounting function within the practice
• Review and sign off annual financial statements
• Manage and oversee tax compliance (corporate, individual, VAT, PAYE)
• Ensure regulatory and statutory compliance
• Supervise and mentor junior staff members
• Drive operational efficiencies and improve internal processes
• Manage client relationships and maintain high service standards
• Assist with forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning for the practice
• Support business growth initiatives and contribute to new client acquisition
• Provide strategic input to the Directors as the firm expands

Minimum Requirements

• Newly qualified CA(SA)
• Articles completed at a reputable firm (audit experience advantageous)
• Strong technical knowledge of tax and financial statements
• Solid understanding of accounting standards and regulatory requirements
• Some management or supervisory exposure (even within audit)
• Commercially savvy with an interest in business growth
• Must be based in or around Benoni
• Willing to work full-time in office
