About the Role
Conova (PTY) LTD is seeking a highly skilled Bookkeeper/Creditors Clerk to join our team in the Western Cape region. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing supplier invoices and payments, and ensuring statutory compliance with VAT and EMP201 submissions.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records and process supplier invoices and payments
- Perform bank, debtor, and creditor reconciliations
- Manage the full Accounts Payable (creditors) function and prepare payment schedules
- Assist with VAT, EMP201 submissions, and ensure statutory compliance
- Support monthly management accounts, budgeting, and year-end audits
- Prepare payroll information for the payroll consultant
- Maintain fixed asset registers for group companies
Requirements
- Diploma or Certificate in Bookkeeping, Accounting, or Finance (studies need to be completed)
- 3–5 years’ experience in a bookkeeping role
- NB: strong bookkeeping knowledge and experience doing creditors
- Experience working with accounting software e.g. Sage and Syspro will be an advantage.
- Experience and familiarity with VAT and payroll processing
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
