Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Managing the process of hiring new staff, from posting job openings, screening candidates, conducting interviews, and facilitating onboarding for successful applicants
- Maintaining accurate, up-to-date employee files and records, including personal details, performance evaluations, and training histories, while ensuring compliance with data protection regulations
- Managing employee benefits such as health insurance and retirement plans, answering related queries, and ensuring staff receive benefits correctly and on time
- Overseeing payroll processes to make sure employees are paid correctly and punctually
- Coordinating staff training programs, organizing professional development opportunities, and monitoring the effectiveness of training initiatives
- Supporting performance reviews, developing performance improvement plans, and maintaining records related to employee performance
- Advising on employee relations issues, mediating conflicts, resolving complaints, and helping to foster a positive workplace culture
- Ensuring the organization adheres to employment laws and regulations, updating policies as laws change, and assisting with any related legal matters
- Looking after employee well-being, supporting health and safety policies, and collaborating on workplace safety initiatives
- Assisting in creating, updating, and communicating HR policies and making sure staff understand and follow them
- Organizing team-building events, recognition programs, and gathering feedback to boost employee motivation and satisfaction
- Providing guidance to managers and staff on HR policies, employment law, and company procedures
- Generating reports and analytics for management to inform decisions about workforce trends and HR strategy
Required Qualifications
- National Diploma in Human Resource or equivalent
Required Experience
- 3 years’ experience in a generalist HR position
- 3 years of Labour relations experience
- 1-year supervisory experience
- Sage 300 will be an added advantage
