About the Role
Seeking an experienced Construction Manager with a proven track record in electrical contracting to oversee and manage construction projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will possess advanced knowledge of construction management processes, methods, and standards specific to electrical contracting.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring alignment with objectives and performance standards.
- Review and analyze project requirements to schedule deliverables and accurately estimate costs.
- Ensure all on-site and off-site electrical construction complies with standards and safety regulations.
- Coordinate and direct construction workers and subcontractors, ensuring teamwork and efficient workflow.
- Select and manage tools, materials, and equipment, maintaining inventory control.
- Monitor daily work progress, ensuring time and productivity management across skilled, semi-skilled, and unskilled labor.
- Prepare and provide internal and external progress reports to stakeholders.
- Proactively identify, prevent, and resolve problems on site.
- Negotiate terms and agreements with subcontractors for mutually beneficial outcomes.
- Obtain necessary permits, wayleaves, and approvals for project execution.
- Analyze, manage, and mitigate project risks.
- Ensure adherence to quality construction standards and proper construction techniques.
- Oversee financial transactions, including quotes, orders, invoices, and payment claims.
- Collaborate with the Finance Department to resolve invoicing and debtor queries.
Requirements
- Over 15 years of experience in construction management within the electrical contracting industry.
- Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, methods, and standards specific to electrical contracting.
- In-depth understanding of electrical products, construction details, and relevant regulations and quality standards.
- Comprehensive familiarity with all facets of construction: planning, design, execution, and project closure.
