About the Role
The CFO role at Boardroom Appointments is a unique opportunity to stabilize and rebuild a stressed business through decisive, hands-on intervention. As a turnaround specialist, you will be required to work closely with operations and commercial teams to improve financial results and trading performance. This is not a conventional corporate CFO role, but rather an operational, turnaround-oriented mandate focused on stabilisation, rebuild, and execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure accurate, timely execution of core financial processes through direct involvement (e.g., journals, accruals, reconciliations, GL clean-ups)
- Establish discipline, controls, and trust in the numbers
- Stabilise a stressed business through decisive, hands-on intervention (cash visibility, collections, cost containment)
- Support operations and commercial teams with insight into route, customer, and fleet profitability
- Enable sustainable long-term growth and value creation by capital allocation, pricing strategy, network optimisation
Requirements
- Proven experience leading turnaround environments
- Experience operating in non-system driven, low process maturity and technology environments
- Strong reliance on Excel-based processes
- Logistics experience
- CA(SA) or equivalent qualifications
