About the Role
Hire Resolve’s client in the manufacturing industry is urgently seeking a skilled Millwright to join their team in Germiston, Gauteng. As a key member of the maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of production equipment and maintaining high food safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintenance and repair of production equipment, including machinery used for slicing, packaging, cooking, and processing deli meats.
- Troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues.
- Performing preventative maintenance to minimize downtime.
- Installation of new equipment, including setting up and calibrating new machinery and ensuring proper integration with existing systems.
- Regularly inspecting equipment for wear and tear, and identifying and addressing potential problems before they lead to breakdowns.
- Following all safety protocols and regulations, especially in a food processing environment, and ensuring that equipment is safe to operate.
- Maintaining accurate records of maintenance and repair work, and documenting equipment issues and solutions.
- Working with various systems, including pneumatic, hydraulic, and refrigeration systems.
- Following strict hygiene standards.
Requirements
- Trade Tested Millwright
- Minimum of 3 years post apprenticeship experience working as a Millwright within a food processing or similar high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience with maintaining and repairing food processing equipment, including conveyors, packaging machinery, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills, with a focus on minimizing downtime and ensuring food safety standards.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and P&IDs relevant to food processing equipment.
