Job Description

Hire Resolves client in the manufacturing industry is urgently seeking the expertise of a Millwright  in Germiston, Gauteng.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance and repair of production equipment, including machinery used for slicing, packaging, cooking, and processing deli meats.
  • Troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Performing preventative maintenance to minimize downtime.
  • Installation of new equipment, including setting up and calibrating new machinery and ensuring proper integration with existing systems.
  • Regularly inspecting equipment for wear and tear, and identifying and addressing potential problems before they lead to breakdowns.
  • Following all safety protocols and regulations, especially in a food processing environment, and ensuring that equipment is safe to operate.
  • Maintaining accurate records of maintenance and repair work, and documenting equipment issues and solutions.
  • Working with various systems, including pneumatic, hydraulic, and refrigeration systems.
  • Following strict hygiene standards.

Requirements:

  • Trade Tested Millwright
  • Minimum of 3 years post apprenticeship experience working as a Millwright within a food processing or similar high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience with maintaining and repairing food processing equipment, including conveyors, packaging machinery, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills, with a focus on minimizing downtime and ensuring food safety standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and P&IDs relevant to food processing equipment.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with production and maintenance teams.
  • Comprehensive understanding of food safety regulations and hygiene procedures related to working in a food processing facility (e.g., HACCP, GMP).
