About the Role
Our client, a well-established macadamia processing facility situated in one of South Africa’s leading macadamia-producing regions, is seeking an experienced and hands-on Packhouse Manager to take full responsibility for the operational management of its warehousing and processing activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Receiving, weighing, documentation, sampling, and initial quality control of macadamia nuts.
- Overseeing the full drying process.
- Managing stock control across all storage facilities and internal processes.
- Optimising workflow between drying rooms, storage areas, sorting lines, and further processing stages.
- Ensuring safety standards and risk controls are consistently maintained.
- Leading day-to-day packhouse staff operations, including shift planning.
- Reporting daily, weekly, and monthly operational figures to senior management.
- Implementing and maintaining SOPs across all packhouse processes.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a packhouse, production, or processing management role.
- Proven operational management experience within a processing plant or warehouse environment.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Operations Management or a related field (advantageous).
