About the Role
Bushwise is seeking a passionate and professional Field Guide to join our luxury safari property in Hoedspruit. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional wildlife experiences while maintaining the highest standards of guest service, safety, and environmental awareness.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct guided game drives and bush walks in a safe, informative, and engaging manner
- Share extensive knowledge of wildlife, ecology, and the surrounding environment with guests
- Ensure guests have a world-class safari experience from arrival to departure
- Maintain guiding equipment and vehicles to the highest standard
- Follow reserve rules, safety procedures, and conservation guidelines
- Assist with lodge activities, guest hosting, and special experiences when required
- Monitor wildlife sightings and contribute to reserve records
- Uphold the lodges luxury service standards and guest interaction expectations
Requirements
- CATHSETTA Nature Site Guide NQF2
- First Aid
- Valid Drivers License and PDP
- Previous experience guiding in a Big Five reserve preferred
- Strong communication and storytelling ability
- Excellent guest relations skills suitable for a luxury environment
- Fluent in English (additional languages advantageous)
- Ability to work well within a small team in a remote environment
