The cables recovered are dismantled and recycled in the Mertech Marine factory based in Gqeberha. A vacancy currently exists for a dynamic and energetic HR Officer to assist with various Human Resource related tasks and responsibilities. The successful incumbent will report to the HR Manager. The incumbent will be responsible for the following key functions: Labour Relations: chairing of disciplinary hearings, maintaining relevant records, implementing fair discipline (procedurally & substantively), etc. Recruitment: developing and placing advertisements, shortlisting CVs, conducting interviews, conducting background checks, compiling employment contracts, onboarding of new staff, conducting probation reviews etc. Administration: maintaining employee records, ensuring payroll is updated with staff changes, etc. Performance Management: compiling job descriptions, collating performance appraisal outcomes, etc. Staff engagement: assisting with engagement projects, conducting exit interviews, etc. Training : scheduling and arranging training sessions, record keeping, ATR/WSP, etc. Requirements : Diploma or Degree in Human Resources or Industrial Psychology At least 3 years of HR Generalist experience with reputable references Strong computer proficiency with intermediate Excel skills Drivers licence and own reliable transport Ability to maintain confidentiality Deadline-driven and comfortable to work under pressure Innovative and able to work without supervision Excellent attention to detail and accuracy Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills Excellent planning and organising skills Confident and self-assured Energetic, highly motivated and performance orientated The company offers market related remuneration and benefits, based on the successful applicant`s experience and qualifications.
