Johannesburg: Automation Engineer

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Automation Engineer to design, develop, and maintain industrial automation systems. You will play a key role in improving manufacturing efficiency, process reliability, and operational safety across our facilities. 🛠Key Responsibilities Design, program, and commission automation systems including PLCs, SCADA, HMIs, robotics, and control networks. Troubleshoot electrical, control, and instrumentation systems across production lines. Optimize existing automation processes to improve cycle time, reliability, and energy efficiency. Develop and maintain technical documentation, including wiring diagrams, functional specifications, and test procedures. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (mechanical, electrical, production, quality) on new projects and system upgrades. Support predictive and preventive maintenance activities. Ensure compliance with safety standards and industry regulations. 🎓 Qualifications Bachelors degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field. Strong knowledge of PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Schneider, Omron). Experience with SCADA/HMI platforms (e.g., WinCC, Ignition, Wonderware). Understanding of industrial communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, Profibus, Modbus, Profinet). Hands-on experience in troubleshooting automation systems (coursework/internships acceptable for junior roles). Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
