About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Bus Diesel Mechanic Admin Officer to join our team in Roodepoort, Johannesburg. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diesel mechanics, fleet maintenance, and administrative duties. They will be responsible for investigating penalties, conducting technical audits, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct physical inspections on vehicles
  • Liaise with workshops to resolve issues
  • Investigate penalties and contest technical penalties
  • Maintain accurate records of penalties in the Register of Penalties
  • Ensure compliance with roadworthy certificates
  • Provide technical support for bus specifications and body structure
  • Manage negotiated contracts with fleet maintenance providers
  • Perform technical audits to ensure regulatory compliance

Requirements

  • Trade Test Diesel Mechanic
  • Dipl Transport (or equivalent qualification)
  • Experience in Fleet Maintenance
  • Experience in Negotiated Contract management
  • Knowledge of Bus Specs and Body Structure
  • Physical ability to conduct vehicle inspections

Qualifications

  • Formal education in a relevant field (e.g. Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Technology)
