About the Role

Our client, a well-established player in the transport and logistics sector, is seeking a commercially driven Business Development Manager to join their team in Johannesburg. This role is suited to a true deal-maker who thrives on building relationships, opening doors, and driving revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and secure new business opportunities within the transport and logistics industry.
  • Build, manage, and grow a strong and sustainable client base.
  • Develop long-term relationships with key clients and decision-makers.
  • Drive revenue growth through proactive business development and deal-making.
  • Engage the market through cold calling, networking, and industry presence.
  • Take full ownership of your sales pipeline, targets, and performance.
  • Work closely with operations to ensure efficient service delivery.
  • Contribute to the overall commercial growth strategy of the business.

Requirements

Relevant tertiary qualification will be advantageous. Minimum 5 years’ experience within the transport or logistics industry. Proven track record in business development or commercial sales. Established network and client base within transport, ideally within tautliner and bulk. Strong communication and negotiation skills. Confident in cold calling and opening new markets. Highly self-motivated, target-driven, and results-focused. Ability to operate independently and take ownership of outcomes. Computer literate across standard business systems.
