About the Role
The Car Rental Control Room Operator | Agent role is a critical component of our fleet management team, responsible for monitoring and tracking our rental fleet in real-time. As a key member of our control room, you will be the first point of contact for clients, internal teams, and stakeholders, requiring exceptional communication skills and the ability to de-escalate high-pressure situations.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and track the company’s rental fleet using the tracking platform
- Ensure vehicles remain within authorised geographic boundaries
- Assist the recoveries team with client defaults and escalations
- Facilitate towing or roadside assistance in case of accidents or vehicle breakdowns
- Maintain accurate logs and records of all vehicle movements and incidents
- Communicate effectively with internal teams and clients to resolve issues promptly
Requirements
- Minimum Matric / Grade 12 qualification
- Previous experience in a control room, tracking, or fleet monitoring environment
- Strong telephonic and customer communication skills
- Rational decision-making and problem-solving ability
- Ability to monitor multiple vehicles and situations simultaneously
- Basic computer literacy: Excel, Word, Email, Tracking Platforms
