About the Role
Route Management is seeking an experienced Chargehand to join our team in Johannesburg. As a key member of our operations, you will be responsible for overseeing daily activities and coordinating the teams workload to meet production targets. With 5+ years of experience in van bodies, drop sides, curtain sides, and tippers, we are looking for someone with a strong background in fabrication and paint work.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret Engineering drawings
- Liaise with Production teams
- Oversee daily activities and coordinate the team’s workload to meet production targets
- Train, mentor, and evaluate team member skills and performance, fostering a positive and productive work environment
- Identify and resolve any issues arising during the fabrication process, ensuring timely completion of projects
- Maintain accurate records of production activities, including production schedules
Requirements
- Own transport
- Minimum Code 10 drivers license
- Able to work long hours and under pressure
- High energy levels and self-motivated
- Reliable transport
- Good communication skills (ability to communicate effectively with team members and other stakeholders)
- Minimum of 5 years experience in van bodies, drop sides, curtain sides, and tippers
- Experience in paint work as an advantage
