About the Role
Hire Resolve is seeking an experienced Site Agent to join their team in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing site operations, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and driving productivity on construction sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Sets and maintains production targets and operates within prescribed cost budgets.
- Co-ordinates and controls the activities of site staff and agrees on quality standards set out in the contract.
- Liaises with clients, site staff, and subcontractors to agree on quantities, program, etc.
- Submits monthly revenue certificates and cost estimates.
- Sets and maintains work sequences and construction programs.
- Ensures that the site meets the relevant safety standards.
- Ensures the site is run productively, with all staff/labour knowing their tasks and required quality standards.
- Controls cost and revenue effectiveness.
- Produces the correct quality and draws up a quality plan.
- Solves problems and foresees potential issues before they happen.
- Successfully starts up a contract and liaises with buying and tendering departments.
- Uses sound HR and IR principles and communicates effectively with the team, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Requirements
- Understanding of contract matters, including JBCC 2000, FIDIIC, GCC, etc.
- Knowledge of the OHS Act and implementation of safety standards.
- Ability to monitor and control site operations, including plant, materials, and manpower.
- Strong problem-solving skills and lateral thinking.
- Proficiency in using CCS for drawing and updating programs.
- Ability to measure and formulate new rates from first principles.
- Experience with disciplinary hearings and HR principles.
- Effective communication skills with various stakeholders.
