About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Chief Operating Officer (Retail Operations – FMCG) to join our team in Johannesburg. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the retail operations of our group, which comprises over 60 branches and 800 staff members. With experience managing a similar-sized group of stores, you will bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the overall performance of retail operations across all branches
- Develop and implement strategies to drive sales growth and improve operational efficiency
- Lead and motivate a team of senior managers to achieve business objectives
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment and effective implementation of company policies
- Travel regularly to visit stores, meet with staff, and engage with customers
Requirements
- Extensive experience in FMCG retail operations, preferably as COO or National Retail Operations Executive
- Proven track record of driving sales growth and improving operational efficiency
- Strong understanding of retail store distribution, merchandising, marketing, especially online channels
- Excellent IT systems knowledge and ability to implement operational policies and admin processes
