About the Role
We are seeking an experienced COC Inspector to join our team in Johannesburg, responsible for ensuring compliance with electrical regulations and standards in solar PV installations.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct post-installation inspections on solar PV and related electrical systems
- Verify that installations comply with SANS 10142 and relevant electrical and solar regulations
- Identify non-compliant work and provide clear feedback for corrective action
- Issue and sign off Electrical Certificates of Compliance where installations meet legal requirements
- Complete and maintain accurate job cards, inspection reports, and compliance records
- Ensure all required documentation is properly filed and kept up to date
- Liaise with installation teams, subcontractors, and management regarding compliance findings
- Support continuous improvement by highlighting recurring installation issues
- Maintain a strong focus on safety and regulatory adherence on all inspected sites
Requirements
- Valid Wiremans License appropriate for issuing Certificates of Compliance
- Legally registered and authorised to issue and sign off Electrical Certificates of Compliance
- Strong working knowledge of SANS 10142 and relevant electrical and solar regulations
- Proven experience in inspecting electrical installations
- High attention to detail and strong administrative accuracy
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage inspection schedules
