About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for contributing to a culture of zero harm by adhering to all requirements as laid down by legislation and health safety, environmental, and security policies and procedures. They will apply specific instructions to their own work area and task completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to a culture of zero harm
- Take-over/hand over shift from off/on-going Dump Truck operator and report any abnormalities to the supervisor
- Perform visual inspections of the Dump Truck before and during operation according to departmental procedures
- Assist Engineering Department with scheduled maintenance and breakdown repairs on the Dump Truck
- Haul blasted material from one place to another
- Inspect material to ensure it has been loaded correctly
- Keep the truck clean and in good working order
- Ensure compliance to relevant systems, procedures, and standards
- Adhere to health and safety standards and procedures
Requirements
- Relevant experience as a Dump Truck/Excaavator Operator
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Physical fitness for manual labor
- Good communication skills
Qualifications
- Matric certificate (or equivalent)
