About the Role

Hire Resolve’s client is seeking a talented Engineer Technologist specializing in Water & Sanitation to join their team in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will support the design and preparation of preliminary and final plans for water and sanitation designs of bulk water networks, Storm & Flood water, Sustainable Hydrology designs, Pumps & Pipeline design, Pumpstation design, Slurry design, Sewer & Sewage infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the design and preparation of preliminary and final plans for water and sanitation designs of bulk water networks, Storm & Flood water, Sustainable Hydrology designs, Pumps & Pipeline design, Pumpstation design, Slurry design, Sewer & Sewage infrastructure.
• Provide support in the estimation of project cost, drawing-up of contracts and developing of specifications for labour, material, and equipment.
• Assist in the development of preliminary engineering treatments to determine construction feasibility and estimated cost.
• Prepare final layout drawings and stress calculations.
• Investigate construction methods best suited to soil types encountered.
• Assist in the survey, staking, layout, and inspection of construction projects.
• Provide support in the set-up of the project and project meetings.
• Provide support with project reviews, quality assurance, cost control, health & safety and invoicing of the project.
• Prepare a Close-out report.
• Ensure and drive cost control and cost savings in the project.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or National Diploma in Civil/Environmental Engineering or a related field.
• Professional registration as an Engineer/Technologist with relevant regulatory bodies.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in water and sanitation engineering.
• Proven experience in the design and management of water and sanitation projects.
• Proficiency in relevant design software and tools.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory standards and industry best practices.

• Bachelor’s degree or National Diploma in Civil/Environmental Engineering or a related field (if applicable)
