Job Summary

For the Engineer they will be responsible to provide expert engineering support and project management support to the manufacturing operations, with specific focus on the filling department and related processes. They will be responsible for investigation, analysis, and resolution of technical issues associated with the plant. Specifically, on the Filling Plant side the Engineer will be required to: – Develop expert knowledge and competence in the filling operation. – Provide expert engineering support to the daily operations of the relevant departments. – Provide technical expertise and input to the factory maintenance function. – Complex problem-solving champion for all relevant processes. – Maintain accurate records, drawings and technical files for the relevant plant & equipment. – Analyse and report key measures for systemic improvement. – Run systemic & focused improvement projects on site. – Develop procedures, instructions, and protocols for relevant plant & processes. – Support the sharing and upliftment of technical expertise in the relevant departments through training, coaching and development initiatives where applicable. – Manage new and expansion projects from inception to final commissioning and sign off. – Engage & communicate with project stakeholders. – Prepare detailed feasibility studies, project plans, and designs. – Facilitate the development of project requirements specifications. – Prepare and execute change management documentation. – Develop, along with relevant stakeholders, suitable qualification protocols. – Develop suitable Gantt charts to ensure projects are effectively managed and communicated. – Selection and management of contractors. – Financial & contractual project control. The successful candidate must have a Bachelors degree in Engineering (Mechanical/ Industrial/ Chemical) coupled with at least 5 years project engineering experience in a similar role within the manufacturing, cosmetic, pharmaceutical or personal care industries.
