Job Description
The Financial Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing the accounting and finance department. This includes establishing fiscal controls, maintaining accounting systems, interpreting financial results, and safeguarding the organisations assets. The role also requires acting as a business partner to line managers to support the companys strategic mission and goals.
Key Responsibilities Strategic Financial Oversight

Manage and coordinate all strategic financial goals and operations.

Regularly report on the implementation status of financial strategies.
Financial Analysis and Business Partnering
-
Conduct and interpret monthly, quarterly, and annual performance analyses.
-
Identify deviations from plans and advise department heads on corrective actions.
Long-Term Financial Planning
-
Contribute to the development of long-term financial plans (5-year outlook).

Analyze financial impact of strategic initiatives on growth metrics.
Operational Financial Management
-
Oversee annual accounting functions including:
-
Statutory audits and financial statements.
-
Internal audit reviews and controls implementation.
-
Financial reporting, treasury, taxation, and regulatory compliance.

Manage working capital through effective cash flow and loan funding oversight.
Credit Management
-
Conduct credit checks on clients.
-
Monitor credit exposure and assist in collections and legal follow-ups.
-
Work towards reducing debtor days.
Budgeting and Forecasting
-
Lead the annual budgeting process and quarterly forecasting.
-
Collaborate with departments and subsidiaries for timely board approvals.
Financial Controls and Compliance
-
Ensure compliance with GAAP and IFRS standards.
-
Implement new accounting standards and monitor regulatory changes.
Policy and Process Development
-
Establish and update finance-related policies and procedures.
-
Document departmental processes and review for improvements.
Financial Systems and Team Management
-
Evaluate and improve the effectiveness of financial systems.
-
Ensure clear responsibility allocation within the finance team.
Pricing and Business Case Review
-
Collaborate with Sales and Marketing on pricing strategy and competitive adjustments.
-
Review and validate business cases for financial viability.
Insurance and Risk Management
-
Manage and review the adequacy of the organisations short-term insurance portfolio.
-
Seek cost-effective coverage through procurement collaboration.
Additional Duties

Execute any other lawful and reasonable instructions as required.
Required Competencies Technical Skills
-
In-depth knowledge and application of IFRS and preparation of consolidated and subsidiary financials.

Strong accounting, taxation, and audit skills.
-
Familiarity with internal controls, risk management, and insurance.

Financial analysis and variance interpretation.

Experience with external and internal audit coordination.
Soft Skills

High accountability and deadline orientation.

Strong communication and presentation abilities in English.

Ability to influence others and work collaboratively in a group structure.

Self-driven with problem-solving skills and a focus on staff development and training.
Qualifications and Experience
-
Education: Chartered Accountant qualification.
-
Membership: Affiliation with a recognized professional accounting body.
-
Experience: At least 5 years in a similar financial management role, ideally with exposure to technology-driven or complex business environments.

Language: Proficiency in English.
