Job Description

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric).
  • Food Manufacturing or Production-related qualification advantageous.
  • Minimum 2–3 years’ experience operating extrusion machinery in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Previous experience in noodle, pasta, snack, or food processing production preferred.
  • Experience with quality control procedures and food safety standards.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to troubleshoot machinery and process issues.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Attention to detail and quality-focused mindset.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet production targets.
  • Basic numerical and record-keeping skills.
  • Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, and food manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate noodle extrusion equipment according to production schedules.
  • Monitor machine settings, including temperature, pressure, feed rates, and product specifications.
  • Adjust machine controls to ensure consistent noodle quality and production output.
  • Start up and shut down extrusion equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Conduct regular quality checks on noodles for size, texture, moisture content, and appearance.
  • Ensure products meet company quality standards and customer specifications.
  • Record quality inspection results and report any deviations immediately.
  • Take corrective action when product quality falls outside specification.
  • Ensure raw materials are loaded correctly and available for continuous production.
  • Monitor production processes to minimize waste and downtime.
  • Complete production records, shift reports, and machine logs accurately.
  • Assist in achieving daily and monthly production targets.
  • Perform routine cleaning of extrusion machinery and work areas.
  • Conduct basic preventative maintenance and report equipment faults.
  • Assist maintenance personnel during repairs and breakdowns.
  • Maintain a clean and hygienic working environment in accordance with food safety standards.
  • Adhere to all Health & Safety, HACCP, GMP, and Food Safety requirements.
  • Wear appropriate PPE at all times.
  • Report unsafe conditions, incidents, and equipment defects immediately.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
