About the Role
A well-established and respected organisation, within the South African insurance and financial services sector, is looking for a Financial Manager to join their Finance Division. Reporting directly to senior management, this role offers the opportunity to play a key part in managing the finance portfolio of a significant insurance entity within the group.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing monthly management reports and delivering detailed financial analysis
- Presenting financial results and insights to senior and executive stakeholders
- Assisting with budgeting and forecasting processes
- Processing and/or reviewing monthly trial balances
- Preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations
- Reviewing daily payments and analysing supporting financial schedules
- Participating in technical finance projects, including IFRS 17 implementation initiatives
- Preparing entity tax calculations
- Compiling sections of annual financial statements related to investments (IFRS 17)
- Taking ownership of the annual audit process, including liaising with external auditors
Requirements
- Qualified CA(SA) with at least 45 years post-articles experience
- Strong post-audit technical experience
- Solid IFRS knowledge, including exposure to IFRS 17
- Experience preparing annual financial statements
- Proven experience managing the audit process
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills
- Experience working with SAGE
