Johannesburg: Financial Manager (Reporting)

A well-established and respected organisation, within the South African insurance and financial services sector , is looking for a Financial Manager to join their Finance Division. Reporting directly to senior management, this role offers the opportunity to play a key part in managing the finance portfolio of a significant insurance entity within the group. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys the technical side of finance , from IFRS reporting and annual financial statements to audit management and executive-level reporting 💼 What Youll Be Responsible For: Preparing monthly management reports and delivering detailed financial analysis Presenting financial results and insights to senior and executive stakeholders Assisting with budgeting and forecasting processes Processing and/or reviewing monthly trial balances Preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations Reviewing daily payments and analysing supporting financial schedules Participating in technical finance projects , including IFRS 17 implementation initiatives Preparing entity tax calculations Compiling sections of annual financial statements related to investments (IFRS 17) Taking ownership of the annual audit process , including liaising with external auditors ✠Minimum Requirements (Non-Negotiable): Qualified CA(SA) 45 years post-articles experience Strong post-audit technical experience Solid IFRS knowledge, including exposure to IFRS 17 Experience preparing annual financial statements Proven experience managing the audit process Advanced Microsoft Office skills Experience working with SAGE ⭐ Advantageous Experience: Insurance industry exposure Tax knowledge 🧠Key Competencies: Exceptional attention to detail Strong technical IFRS knowledge Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines Strong communication and presentation abilities Ability to work independently and collaboratively A strategic mindset with a proactive approach to challenges High levels of professional integrity and accountability 🚀 Why Consider This Opportunity?: This role offers exposure to complex technical finance work within a respected insurance environment , providing the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership while developing deep expertise in financial reporting, IFRS, and strategic finance operations .
