Job Description
Take the lead in shaping an organisations funding strategy at a national scale. This role calls for a seasoned Treasury leader ready to make a measurable impact on financial sustainability and long-term growth.
As Head: Treasury, you will drive the formulation and execution of a cost-effective funding strategy, oversee asset and liability management, and manage relationships with lenders and rating agencies. Working at the heart of financial decision-making, you will guide liquidity planning, funding structures, market risk insights, and compliance with Treasury and PFMA requirements. This role offers the opportunity to influence strategic funding direction within a complex and evolving environment.

What Youll Do
Lead the development of a cost-effective funding strategy aligned to the corporate plan.
Coordinate the execution of Board-approved funding plans.
Develop and manage funding, hedging, and risk-mitigation structures.
Ensure regulatory compliance and protect organisational financial health.
Implement sound Treasury policies, frameworks, and accounting practices.
Advise on market risks, interest rate structures, and financial implications.
Act as an authorised dealer, executing informed and compliant decisions.
Manage liquidity across short-, medium- and long-term horizons.
Secure and maintain adequate credit facilities and trading lines.
Support forex-related requirements within relevant exchange control frameworks.
Oversee counterparty reviews, balance sheet management, and strategic funding models.
What You Bring
1012 years Treasury or Investment Banking experience within complex environments.
At least 5 years in a senior leadership capacity.
Experience within a Development Finance Institution advantageous.
In-depth knowledge of capital markets, funding tools, and associated risks.
Strong understanding of PFMA, Exchange Control, and Treasury regulations.
Experience in credit rating processes and asset-liability management.
Proficiency in Treasury systems (Quantum, Bloomberg) and funds transfer pricing.
Relevant postgraduate qualification in Accounting or Finance; CA(SA), CFA or MBA advantageous.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and commercial insight capabilities.
